Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

My Favourite Toy Challenge - Chirone

I'm trying to decide which toy I will do

my very first transformer Talon:

my very first gundam model:

my first lego set that took ages to assemble, the Ice Planet Deep Freeze Defender (name different to the one i was told), which is the best space ship lego model to ever exist made during the years when lego was awesome:

my very first lego toy from M Tron (which i just googled "lego M" because i didnt know what it was called and that the lego figure had an M on it):

the lego Energy Slizer, i had almost all eight of these, this was my first and it was my favourite of all of them (mostly because it could fly)

or my tonberry

i'm leaning towards either the ice planet ship (because it's just so cool and classic) or the tonberry (no one is doing anything with fur) or the energy slizer (i still remember the time when i got it)

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Computer skills I should have:
Objective C, C#, Java, MEL. Python, C++, XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, SQL, CSS, FXScript, Clips, SOAR, ActionScript, OpenGL, DirectX
Maya, XSI, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Motion, Illustrator, Flash, Swift3D

I think the first gundam looks cool. But like you say a Fur object would be a nice challenge and different from the rest. I think Dango is doing lego. Good Luck. user added image

The Gundam....ok, I like the feel of the shot too.
The Lego Ice Planet Ship has potential, looks complex...to me.
The Tonberry looks basic....but I guess you can add stuff to it.
I am leaning more towards the tonberry cause its final fantasy.

In the end I think its best to pick the one that has the most sentimental value.

RockyMills makes a good point, the one that has the most sentimental value. Tonberry (I think) looks great. Tonberry could be very challenging to render; fur. And it might be cool to see how nCloth would work for it? Great selections & choices!
