This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Ok to try and make it a little better to see, try putting in a plane and grab 2 edges and extrude upwards to create a 'stage'. Pick a sof colour for the stage, I usually go a nice brown or something to reflect the environment.
How much more have you got left to model? and are you going to texture it mate?? Without a tut man thats pretty damn good so far!

Well, i think i will just add a hole for the trigger and maybe adjust some minor things.
I will try to texture it today but i've never done that before so dunno if i will manage to complete it.
Would be awesome to see it textured
thanks Iybrid. I know that Ive rushed some parts of the model and it could be done way better but I still like the final result. Maybe will tweak it up in the future.
Ok mate some steps to create the stage...on the last pic select edges I have highlightes then Edit mesh>bevel and then play wiht the 'offset' in the bevel attributes to get the rounded edges then smooth it. Assign a lambert of either a soft brown or whatever colour you want...but it shouldnt 'drown' out your models colour if you get my drift.
C'mon mate...you can texture this...just UV map one small part of it and take it into PS or similar and have a go. If you want to see how to texture I got the Spitfire tutorial and that explains UV maps and PS texturing really nicely...not overly difficult when you see it up front.

have a look at leons texturing to get an idea of what to look for...its pretty damn good
Yeh Leon is pro man...but I wasnt meaning to be condescending mate LOL I would like to be like that too...sigh...just to give you an idea is all....he is damn good.
TBH go with daves link and have a shot mate...its all good and you wont learn unless you have a crack at it eh?? go on man...you will be fine.

bullet no worries i know what you mean. as some people say, cg is 1% talent and 99% hard work, maybe not exactly true but there's something in it. "no pain, no gain"
I will try it out soon when i will have some spare time, maybe even this weekend. gotta work on some project atm but i will give that tut a try for sure as i want to learn it, maybe even master it someday.
