What do you prefer?

When modeling a head do you prefer to model the ear separately and attach it later or model the ear as you model the head?

I find modelling each of them separately, is a lot easier in the long run for me. Less headaches.

I've tried each way (only once each user added image), and from my experience, modeling the ear separately seems to be much less of headache than extruding from the head. I find it easier to line it up after, than to deal with it as I go

I make the basic shape (very basic no detial just the outline and volume) as part of the head, I then extract it then add the detail then re attach it when finished.

I hate making ears.

haha alright thanks for your input, I am in the process of modeling a head and have never tried extracting the ear then reattaching it later..think I am going to, as I also hate modeling ears.
