hello,
i have a problem: when i'am trying to use the booleans operation (difference) to cut holes in my geometry it delete the whole selected area. i don't know maybe i have a manifold geometry.does any one know how to cleanup my mesh?
Its because the 'normals' on the object you used to boolean were inside out maybe? dave? turn OFF 2 sided lighting wheneer you model to see the reversed normals. In your view panel 'Lighting>2 Sided Lighting'. If ANY object ends up with a black lambert then the normals are reversed...you need to correct this.

"A Darkness at Sethanon", a book I aspire to model some of the charcters and scenes
If you are still having trouble I would close your scene file and reopen (some time tools get screwed up) if that does not work delete that area of mesh and rebuild it (make sure you have some edges going through were you want the boolean).......dave
hey guys,
i solved this issue now by playing around with the treshhold value. i set it to 0.7 and then i had the grid without faces.i selected one edge---> fill hole and there i had my clean boolean difference.
