Shockwave - Transformers G1

Right before I start - the rules

1) Micheal Bay can burn in hell and take all his rubbish redesigns with him.
2) As much as I love this character, I hate his weapon mode so its not going to transform.
3) Yes looking to animate this a little but again not transforming.
4) No I am not making the toy, more a character.
5) Again really using this to work on shaders and lighting, more of the modelling but I know I am going to have fun with this one.

Right said I was going to do it and therefore I am. Many know the crap I have had this year and so I want to make something fun - for me. Grimlock was and always will be my fav transformer, but this guy was a close second - One eye and a gun for a hand, whats not to love. Even better still the only real threat to Grimlock.

Here is some ref I have looked at

But it is these 3 images I`m going for the look of. I like the one on the left as they have slimmed him down abit to make him look much more as a warrior I know him to be. The model on the right shows how as a robot he would work more than the other images I have seen. And the middle image is just great and think is what I might use for final setting (minus the heads - not cool), but to be honest no real idea yet of final image will look like.

This will be what I want him to look like so will be changing bits and bobs. No stress no fuss just Maya fun . user added image

why dont you ask for some art tests instead? Are you still looking for work?

this might be a good thing to do, you will also get feedback or even a job offer.

edit: just read the post, instead of only looking at the pictures. If you are doing it for fun, fair enough.

LOL, I agree, Michael Bay can burn in hell, and take all his redesigns with him. I heard transformers 3 was really robo-tarded.

Anyway, shockwave is a really cool character. I'm still working on my optimus, but only have time on the weekends to do anything to it. I'm going to make a 1984 toy megatron also. I will probably do starscream and soundwave after that. The 1984 toy versions to be exact. Going to to a vintage transformer poster in the end ( eventually ).

Been saying I was going to do another transformer for about 2 years now and I have crammed my head with so much lighting training I wanted just to do some modelling, then apply the new stuff to that model.

A bit of fun before going back to work.

Been going though my old files and grabbing as many old parts I could to use to kit-bash the inside parts of this guy - been playing around for a few hours on the neck and happy with the result - not built the things to attack the side spring to the head but you get the idea right now.

Hoping for the same kind of look for the stomach area I think
