Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Free memory is low error

Hi! I tried to use the mental ray but I found this error: Free memory is low. Memory exception thrown

And the screen stop to make the rendering. There's some way to fix it? Or adjust the mentalray?
I'm using a Low quality configuration.

Your textures might be too big. If there's nothing you can do, you need to upgrade your memory of your computer. How much do you have? Anything under 2 gbs, you're going to have problems.

Thanks for the answer. The PC has 4gb of memory because I upgrade.

In project has this configurations:

Textures with 2048x2048 size,
Material with diffuse and bump maps,
Images with .bmp formats.
The project file has 75 MB.

In this info above has something that I change to don't have this error?

How many 2k textures do you have, and how many polys are in your scene? It just sounds like you have too much stuff in your scene, and your computer just can't handle it. I remember working on a shot at work, and I was easily maxing out 16 GB's of ram.

100 textures. 50 to diffuse and 50 to bump.
581843 faces
and the number of object I just can't count because I ..is really much time to count..

Actually I shoull make some changes

Wait... You're using BMP's? Convert those to a compressed format, like tga's. BMP's are HUGE and you should never use them for textures. If you have Photoshop, you should actually save in Maya's native format, .iff. You can grab the plugin here: https://www.creativecrash.com/downloa...shop-plugin-nt

Is a cool help, I even think in use tga. Because I were using other software that don't accept .tga ...so..
But I will convert to degrease size.
..yeah I didn't think the format could low down a rendering proccess.

Thanks NextDesign for you superp help!

No problem mate. You just need to realize how Maya and Mentalray work when they're rendering. Now that you do, you should have no problems in the future user added image
