This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Quick Bez curve- work in progress exercise last night.Modeling my deco "half-logo" against a null-space wall. Why did I think this was going to be easy?
Yeah I guess you're right. Maybe it's just the nature of the logo. More specifically the table being flat and 3d.
weird was the wrong word any way. I thought people would mis-interperate what I wanted to say so opted for weird instead.
I don't know why you'd say that, it gets done all the time... I think it looks neat, and there's a lot you could do with it from here.
Thanks man. Appreciated.
Here's where I'm sort of heading with it. May just add the lamp and ditch the chair. I can't, for the life of me though, get that last shadow in the back smoothed out. Totally stumped and tried everything. But my lights are being really problematic now anyway, so until i figure out what's going on, this will have to do for now.
Added metallic paint and a few lights. Simple stuff, but I'm happy with it for the purposes of the exercise.
Depth map shadows. No fall off . Might adjust the penumbra a bit. This is sort of going more graphic that real. But who knows. I might re-work it to death in another direction. But the shadows resolution here are bugging me for sure.
Honestly I'm sort of jumping ahead without going through my lighting tutorials like I should, but had reached a basic skill set that allows me to play a bit here. So I'm sure there's stuff (see-lots) I'm missing right now. I was afraid to mess with the filters. I think I'll do that.
I just find it wierd that in my first scene (apartment) , the lights so far just went like butter.
And in this "scene" which is far more simple, it's like totally problematic. Maya. Go figure. Thanks for the assist pal.
