Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

timeline creates deformations in character

Hope someone can explain this. I'm attempting a simple animation exercise with a rigid bound character but as soon as I click on a frame in the time line, this happens!

Looks to me like the process of painting the bones onto the models surface are not correctly done, causing deformations. Export to video it would give us a better idea of what is going on.

There's not really anything to show in a video. One moment it's correct, the moment I tap the keyframe it changes to the messed up one. Before attempting to use the keyframe bar, all joints can be manipulated normally.
