Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
I've been searching for this forever, but can't seem to find a good maya tutorail. Only speed modeling on youtube. One tutorial I did find was for another program. I know the teqniques can be transfered, as long as I can find out how to create a poly primitive circle with 10 vertex ( I think that words right.) Is tha tool there?
anyone else have any methods of creating a tree? I know how to do the leaves with the create poly tool, but I don't have a clue how to go about making a good trunk, lol.
Just create a ten-sided cylinder and delete the rest of it for the circle... can't really help with the low-poly tree thing except to just get in there and start extruding and shaping with some good reference.
take a cylinder 6-8 sided, give 4 -6 segments in height. turn that cylinder in softbody, select the particles of softbody and apply turbulence field of 50-60 magnitude. run the animation keeping it to real time speed. when the object is deformed little. stop the animation. select the deformed cylinder mesh and delete history.later you can do some more tweaks with lattice deformer.
awesome, I'll be looking into how to acheive that, haha. There's so much to maya that I find myself looking up a tutorial on everything I learn about, lol.
