Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Wireframe Animation

Hi to all,
I am a newbie to MAYA...I have modeled a geometry of a machine which has various gears inside and which are spinning and doing various motions. For the purpose of demonstration I have to zoom towards the machine and till its outer geometry( i.e. surface) gradually becomes transparent i.e it goes into the wireframe mode to reveal the inside geometry(gears, axle, chain, pulley) which I want to show with their individual textures...All other inside geometry comprising of the above mentioned gears, axle, chain, pulley are separate modeled objects made from polygonal surfaces and are individually animated to give a visual feel that they are moving inside the machine...
I tried to use the Wireframe/Xray but it makes the entire geometry into the Wireframe/Xray mode....I have to show a gradual dissolve of the outside texture to the wireframe mode retaining the inside textures to show those gears, pulleys etc in motion...
Please help me to achieve these results. I really thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedule to help me learn one more concept of maya...
Cheers,
Thanks to all.
