Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

nCLoth

Hi just having trouble simulating paper with nCloth.

Id like it to wrap around a book while opening.

The edges appear sharp however, and would anyone have good settings for paper.

I have scene scale at .01
Substeps 15, collision iterations 65
stretch resistance 500, compression resistance 500, bend 96, bend angle drop .023

Thanks

Have you tried the ncloth presets, you can find some thing thats simular to what you want then adjust from there...........dave

Edit:Thick leather set at 50% blend would be my starting point

My first thought is that the paper has to much resolution. Remember you can add that resolution after the sim. is done and therefore getting around having to calculate all that geo.

Second, make sure the paper geo is clean i.e. good normals, remove excess vertices etc.

Third, this might be a good place to start for paper - https://area.autodesk.com/blogs/dunca...ok_with_ncloth

Hope this helps.
