gravity effected objects pile up

hi
please help
i want some objects (apples) to pile up over my character (bird) the apples are effected to gravity field but as soon as they hit the ground they start bouncing and spreading everywhere, i want them to just pile up over each other ...

Reduce bounciness in the rigid body? Should be in the apple object's attribute editor.
Bounciness and damping. Test those two values.

And increase friction too.
