Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Iv'e decided to model

Charon (CAIR-on)
Spectral figure who ferried the dead across the river Styx.

The custom was to place a coin in the mouth of a corpse to secure its passage into Hades

This should give me something to play with.

1. Main figure
2. Boat
3. River (I'm thinking of making it underground with Stalagmite and a Stalagtite or two for atmosphere)
4. Dead body, maybe......... (if I get time)

Oh well,,,,,,,, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Added a bit of water to see if the idea I have will work.

I think I'm in for a fairly steep learning curve getting it together.user added image

I will be streamlining the cave quite a bit to get it looking the way I want it.

But at least its a start.user added image

My understanding of Charon is that he is a ghost like person, which gives me lots of scope to model.

But as I stated earlier, Mythology is not my best subject. So I could br wronguser added image

It doesn't matter how he's depicted...use your imagination. In Clash of the Titans he's depicted as a skeleton in a hooded cloak, kinda like a ringwraith. I've seen other books where he's depicted as a gaunt old man. Just an FYI, though....Charon wasn't a god.

Not much done.

Added a texture or two
And a boat, (I think I'll make the boat a bit more ornate)
This ones a bit on the boring side.

(Also started on Face.... That will be the next Update)
