Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Sorry I am not following you. Can you post a screen shot to show what you you are trying to ask?

If it is about hiding seams. You have a couple options ....

1. minimize seams by merging as many uv shells as possible without stretching
2. hide the seams under geometry
3. hide the seams in areas that will most likely not be visible in renders
4. use a 3d painting application that allows you to paint across seams like mudbox, zbrush, 3d coat, body paint...

...off the top of my head.

You will not be able to eliminate a seam someplace for that shape. So you have two options...

1. Move the seam to the underside where it is less likely to be seen.
2. move it to the underside AND use a paint program to paint across the seam.
