fluid seeping out of collision object

I created a fluid emitter inside of a polygon tube, like a chimney

the thing is the voxels/smoke seep out from the sides at the base of the chimney, before they reach the opening hole at the top..I tried increasing the resolution but it still happens...any ideas?
