This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
I have an idea of what I'm going to do. My favorite show is coming back on the air and that is The Walking Dead and I'm really into post apocalyptic stuff so on I'm going to be going in that direction especially since I have quite a few gun models on my page. I'm looking for something gritty and wonderfully depressing!
Am I the only one opening(or trying to) some of these files and getting completely friggin annoyed?! Some are outright unfinished. I've given up on a few (sucks since I was looking forward to using them!). I might even have to go back to the drawing board on my concept. Still combing through and cleaning up.
Settled on an idea that would focus on the texture/lighting aspect of things, and my scene will be a shrine made of metal scraps from the "before world".
Was sketching a bit and I'm going in this direction. Just blocked in the cave and will be taking that into Mudbox for some sculpting. All the objects are stand-ins, the blocks on the ropes and the center shrine will be the switched out for the random TS objects, probably going to string some more lines up but you get the idea.
Thank you. I'm going to try to finish this, I should have some progress shots up soon. I've been spending pretty much all my computer time playing Guild Wars 2 but until they get their stuff together I'm done with that. Back to sculpting my cave!
