That was super fast. I was just about to request it. user added image Does Jay or anyone know how to set the wireframe on shaded as the default shader? Mine just defaults to the plain shader.
Or... maybe not. I dunno.

The little toolbox in the window has several features that you really just need to play with to suit you:

1: Shader selection
2:Toggle subdivision
3: Auto rotate
4:Navigate
5:coding for forums

Thanks, I posted it on my blog to test and it showed regular smooth shading. Seems a bit random, but I can see now that the shading type is in the URL for iframe embedding. Not sure how it works on this forum feature.

Testing p3d.in tag

Hi there! I'm Daniel, founder of p3d.in. Thank you very much for your interest, I'll be here helping in any way I can.

About the default viewer settings it's actually quite easy, set your (main) viewer how ever you like it, notice the URL changes dynamically, copy the id plus the keywords and paste them inside your "p3d" tag here in the forum

Example:

[p3d.tag]KyhIn/wireonxray+spin[/p3d.tag]

cheers!

Best of luck to you.

Trying to use it but maya obj is giving me fits!!!! Half my model dissapears or certain parts become nothing like the actual part when converting to obj???

I have tried it with three models and I have yet to get one to convert to obj properly!

Also, what happens if you use a combination of smoothed and unsmoothed parts? The obj does not see preview smoothing so you have to smooth and then the model size goes way over the 50MB limit. (

okay I sorted out the problems I was having.

It had to do with exporting instanced parts to obj. I did not know how to fix it in obj so I just exported to fbx and that converts the instances to copies and then re-exported to obj. The parts that were not matching the geo turned out to be hidden stuff. Also, I converted nurbs to polygons with the fbx export.

Yeah in regards to Ricks comments, it doesnt like instanced objects/flipped normals and it will outline these errors in the 'render' which is a good thing too actually. Also I had a five sider on a fin, it triangulated it for the viewer...brilliant, as I was able to go in and fix it.

Rick: Check your wing near the fuselage mate...3 tris are present in one quad!! Outrage LOL

Gen....go ahead bug me!! LOL
