attaching to an animation object

Hi,
I have a polygonal object that is animation in may scene.
I want to attach a cylinder to it and have it animate along with the first object.

How can i do this without redoing all the keyframes?

Thanks,
Ari

I imagine you could parent it, or Point constrain it. Be aware of the pivot points when constraining.

Parenting the cyliner to the other object would be my suggestion. It's quick, easy, and you can still animate the cylinder.

Hi All,

Just curious, if parenting used..can the parent be squashed without squashing the child? Is there a way around?

Thanks,
TC

You could perhaps Group the parent object to itself, and parent the child to the Group node instead of the actual parent object. You could then apply whatever modifiers to the parent and it shouldn't affect the child.
