Bizzare mesh deformation when exporting

Whenever I try to export this model (it does this with other models too, but not so obvious), it... well, take a look for yourselves...

It doesn't just export it as this, but it actually changes the mesh in Maya as soon as I click export, whatever I export it as. Ctrl+Z doesn't even get rid of it, I have to quit and load it again in order to get it back as it were. I've tried importing the healthy version directly into Unity as a Maya file too, it imports the same as the deformed version.

Is there any way I can stop this from happening? Perhaps by fixing the verts to their positions somehow?
