Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Adobe products crash Win 7 64 bit

Ok I upgraded my laptop to win7 and installed a new SSD etc. Since then ANY Adobe product from flash player to Elements etc freezes my system. I have searched high and low for resoutions and have tried many but none work. I completely uninstalled ALL Adobe products and the freezing seemed to have stopped. I have updated all drivers etc etc ad nauseum, deleted registry keys for any Adobe crap. Now I had to install Flash player to view some internet vids, the system crashed the moment I played the vid. I know this is a long shot, has anyone else here had similar issues?

Also on 7 x64, pretty damn similar in specs, never had an issue, other than PS taking too long to open :p

I had no issue on XP Steve...I even tried retro to CS3 and even that didnt work. The clincher was when I had to reload Flash...then the freezes started again, I am at wits end. I have done all the tests ad nauseum...driving me NUTS. Still GIMP is getting a damn good workout and its actually not that bad. Had to re add you on Skype too dude...an update wiped out half my contacts.

Cheers Ant

Hi, I found this on a website where people were having similar problems. It's a long shot but just maybe...

"Firefox would freeze/crash (reporting a problem with flash) or my pc would restart after a random amount of time on youtube.

After trolling for hours on forums trying everything i read (update drivers, disable hardware accelerator etc), somebody said try scanning for viruses.

I really didn't expect that to be the problem as Avast antivirus was always running on my comp but thought i might as well try, so i installed malwarebytes and done a full scan.

My pc was loaded with malware and after removing it all and a quick restart i haven't had the problem since.

Its worth an hour of your time trying it if you're still having this problem."

Hope you find a solution mate.

When it freezes, make a note of the time. Once it's back, take a look at the windows event viewer. https://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/w...n-event-viewer

Expand the folders on the left, and see if there is an error, or warning issued at the time the freeze occurred. That might help track anything down.

Yeh nothing at all ND, checked all of those and there appears to be absolutely no log at all. The whole system just freezes and when I check the logs there is nothing, just a stop of log and then the logon events start, wierd.

Cant load/install in normal mode ND, freezes up, cant load in safe mode as it says components are incompatible or some junk. I got Zbrush to run and gave it curry but it didnt lock up? so its got me buggered. Back in normal mode and now Maya is freezing the system JUST about avery time I do a pan or orbit around the scene...usually about 10 minutes into it...sigh

I found a couple of threads on forums where people experienced similar hassles with Win7 and Acer. They got around it by disabling hardware acceleration for flash.

Hmmm ok Pix, thanks mate. Will that stop PS and the others though? As I said Maya is doing it too now so I think it may be a combo of Adobe, Win7 and bloody Nvidia...sigh

Dunno know if it will solve all the issues. Tackle it one component at a time. Disable hardware acceleration for flash and see if it solves the problem. If it does then it's good and bad. Good, you can play internet videos again. Bad as it points to driver issues under Win7. Can you get the drivers directly from NVidia or are you redirected to Acer?
