Export Mental Ray Mi Files Problem

Whenever I try to export geometry from Maya into a .mi file, the file exported is only a few hundred bytes in size and nothing appears when I render the file in Mental Ray using render proxies.
These are the settings that I'm currently using :
user added image
Any help would be appreciated!

Check out this video by Ash and make sure you didn't miss a step or two. Saves me a lot of typing user added image

I think the problem was the shaders weren't assigned properly to all of the geometry, but its working now.
