Texture Transparency Overlap Issue

Hello, I have my characters hair done using some faces with a semitransparent hair texture, but when I apply the texture things get drawn on top of each other the wrong way.
Here is a screen shot of the model without and with the texture applied:

What can I do to avoid this issue?

What about my normals am I supposed to check?

The reason for the funny smooth/notsmooth thing is that the mesh has 2 sets of faces, because Unity automatically uses culling, and I want the hair to be 2 sided.

Have you tried Shading>Polygon Transparency Sorting?
