V-ray .exr file does not contain elements?

Hi,

When I save a rendered image from Vray's frame buffer by clicking on 'save image' icon with open .exr selected, the saved file does not contain any of the elements. I can only get them when I click on 'save all image channels' icon but then it scatters all the single files across the selected folder. I thought one of the advantages of having a single .exr file is that it would contain all the elements within? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong as I know for a fact that everyone gets everything from a single file and shuffle them out one by one later. (By the way, I did try the file in Nuke and none of the files are showing up.)
If you could point out the obvious to me once again, I will be grateful.

Cheers.

usually maya creates a folder for you with diffrent images in it if you have AOV on, AOV = when rendering an image it will save diffrent passes (example. the reflection as one image, the specular as one image and so on...) look at your render settings to make sure you dont have this enabled. im not sure what its called in Vray. if you disable AOV you will get one beauty rendered image.

this is all i can think of, goodluck

in the vray settings you can choose between .exr and .exr (multichannel). you need the second one. but it is better to have different files for each pass from the start.

Unfortunately, neither of those suggestions have made any difference, I'm still getting just the beauty pass as a single .exr file with no passes within.
This has started annoying me a bit but it could be a bug in my system also.

Many thanks for your input, anyways, much appreciated as always.
Cheers, boys.

you have to batch render the image, so you can save multichannel exr.
