This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Part of my work is dark?

I just finished modeling my shark but I found out that part of my shark is covered in dark. I changed the material but it doesn't help. What should I do?user added imageuser added imageuser added image

Looks like you have two sided lighting turned off witch is good as it is showing that the normal are facing the wrong direction, to correct select those faces and go to normals/reverse press on that and it should be OK..............dave

The blue lines look like your low poly mesh, have you hit 2 on the keyboard? If you hit 1 you should see your low poly mesh, and with 3 you can see your smoothed mesh without the cage.
