Useless set of UVs on smoooth mesh preview???

Hi folks, another UV problem. I created a set of UVs for a lowres model using Unfold3D in Maya 2015, and when I’ve got the model on standard view (number key 1) I get the UVs I created (named ‘uvSet1’). But when I press 3 for smooth mesh preview, it switches to an unwanted set of UVs (named ‘uvSet11’ that were apparently auto-created by the system). How can I set the good UVs (uvSet1) to work for both the standard (1) and smooth mesh preview (3) and get rid of 'uvSet11 altogether? Deleting from the UV Editor deletes ALL the UV sets, not just the bad ones I select.

Never mind

I wasn't aware of the UV Set Editor until after watching some tutorials on Youtube. I still don't know why there were separate UVs for standard vs. smooth mesh preview, but the mayhem is over. Thx.
