Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Need help - appears to be a bug

Dear All,

Using Maya 2016 and can't figure out if this is a bug or am I doing something wrong. Would appreciate if you can try this as well; which I have replicated on two different machines.

Draw polygon sphere and size it up to default grid width. Set division to 1000 by 1000 creating 1 million faces.

Select faces on one half of the sphere and do a face separate. Hit Q to quit from the polychip wizard.

Try to increment save or export and Maya hangs.

I have been going crazy thinking it was something with my model until I tried this.

Do you get the same results and can you offer any ideas as a work around? Exporting does the same thing.
