I know basic modelling and so I tried to model an old key. However, I am stuck at the complex pattern thing at the end of the key

How would I go about modelling this. I use autodesk maya. I tried to use different methods but ultimately ended up failing.
Any help is appreciated, as it would help me become better and better in maya. Thanks in advance
