maya rendering time

Hi - I was wondering how long rendering normally takes, ive got a 2500 frame movie and i let it set overnight (like 12 hours) and it still wasnt done, it had like 600 frames done, im rendering it in production quality and full screen ntsc - how long should 2500 frames normally take?

I don't know much about the maya renderer except it's not that fast... But what I do know is that you can't say how long something takes to render and it all depends on the complexitiy of the scene, how many lights there are, what sort of shadows you are using, if you are doing raytracing etc. But 600 frames/night is very normal to my renders...

What are the specs on your computer? That can have a big effect on how fast your render time is. If you have raytracing on, expect for your render time to be about twice as long, too.
