WizardHouse test!

Hi everyone,

Here's a test for my final year project at Uni, it's a house for my Wizard that i'm modeling, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make the wood plank texture less uniform, the panels on the side of the house and on the roof are displacment mapped with the grid texture then the wood colour mapped over the top. Also some suggestions on wood type/colouring would be cool

Any help would be great, thanks

James.

Are u just applying a shader to the model or are u actually UV mapping it? If u use the latter option u should be able to create a non-unifrom texture in photoshop. Look for one or more tutorials on the web if ur having difficulty or u could post a query in the Texturing forum we have here. Im sure u would get alot of good replies. Nice work btw. Beginning to look very fantastical user added image

LOL! Awsome. The textures are ok. But the pipe on the roof needs to be more medal-ish. The polls more wood-ish, or gone all together.

Funny house.

Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas, here's an environment test i'm doing at the mo, didn't add the grass on this one due to render time, also i've changed the wood texture to something a little more cartoony and less photoreal. Gota go and play with some grass now!

Well, ade, the snowy renderings look far better than the first ones - Got a very good style, allthough I´m missing "holes" in the snow. I´d like to see the wizard you´re modelling!

Nice1.

Thanks for your comments guys, i'll try and get a render of my wizard up in a bit, still a few tweaks to do first!

In respose to z1m and alexgc, well i'm at Portsmouth uni, just finishing my second year, it's going ok but I think i've bitten off a little more that I can chew with this one, but hey i've still got a year left before I have to brave the the real world!!!

Thanks again, James.

Wizard.

Here's a few shots of the Wizard, didn't spend too long modeling his actual body because you can't really see it when the robe is on, he's still not textured or rigged yet, just started unwrapping the head so maybe i'll have some basic textures done by next week!! I hope!!! ( oh and he's got no eye balls yet either!! )

Texture update!

Things are moving alittle slowly but here's a texture update, it's not really how I wanted him to look but time is running out and the deadline is getting alarmingly close!!! Ahhhh
