This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Well. Long time without posting WIP's is a disaster.
Therefore, heres what I´m currently working with. The sketch is by a friend of mine (max user - hopefully he will soon join us, who have discovered the pleasure of maya )
the sketch is really nice there is a lot of character in what is a very simple drawing!
You've made a great start on the model too, my only comment is that the proportions on the face arent like they seem on the sketch. Is that intentional? For example in the sketch the nose is much closer to the eyebrows.
Pure_Morning: Thanks for the comments. The proportions is somewhat intentional, 'cause the face of the sketch is bended forward and the eyebrows therefore seems closer to the eyes. However, I'm still playing around with the proportions to get a nice look. Well observed.
wow 624 that's a great poly count!! I love the legs and feet they really suit the character!
The one area that stands out to me most is the squareness of the neck and shoulder join atthe front. You could do with a poly split here and then move the faces back a bit to give a more rounded result.
Oh oh and make his forehead a little bit bigger (as in the drawing it's bigger and more pronounced) It reminds me of the brain from pinky and the brain!! (Which is a very good thing!)
Pure_Morning: Yes youre right about the squareness. Also the forehead needs work to retain the carisma in the sketch... Also the feet may be bigger. Updates coming soon.
Ps. Do ya think 624 faces is too many for such a model - or did I misunderstood ya ;-)
you just saved my day... I use a different version of CPS thou, but somehow I figured it out with your help... it was a bit tough thou since it had become quite some model, and not only an cube... but I have learned a great deal by your video tutorial... so now I can work on one half instead of 2...
thank you very much... next time I start working on a model with CPS I will start it, as you showed in the video... much easier to work with...
the interface look a bit different than the one you used in the video... that's why I think I'm using a different version of CPS... I don't know if it is newer or older than the version you use...
