Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Another dragon - by noob

Hello!

Lately I've been working on a dragon model. Since I am still total NOOB, I really like how's it going, but i've got few problems. As you can see from screenshots belowe, when I make a model, and it's not smoothed, everything is OK. But when I smoothed it (polygons->smooth), there are strange shadows there. Since I'm a noob, I really don't know what could be wrong. So I would really apriciate any help with it.
And, of couse, any comments are welcomed!user added image

Belowe you have some screenshots.

Cheers

Very cool Zocky - not noob at all user added image

Isn't the shadows just because you need to put some light in the scene before rendering? Maybe someone know what it is better than me.

Btw, can we see a close up of the head??

Keep it up dude!

looks good!
Add some simple lighting and it should bring out the model more! Then we can really dig into helping you fix anything! Great start though! Keep it up!

Tnx for comments!
I need to read some more tutorials about lighting, before I add it to the scene. Heh, there is so much to learn.....but that 's the thing I like the most....you can always be better....
