Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

i'm thinking you're gonna wanna use something that looks more like an Ice Climbers boots, instead of tires. Its a shame those are nice tires.

Reminds me a bit of the Tank from "Aliens", someone is actually modeling that in the WIP forum.

I think I will add spikes to the tire, to make them a bit more applicable to the enviroment.

They were made (very easily i might add) by taking a nurbs sphere, shaping it like the tire. Then i took the centre control points and rotated them along the axle. Then converted to poly's, and extruded the treads. Then a smooth.

Heres a small update.

If its ice climate, it might be cool to add some spike to the tyres for a look.

I'd be great to drive in snow on them. Perhaps where the black parts join the grey parts (technical terms there) you could put a circular rim to give the impression of increased strength?
