Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Joining the Car WIP's

very impressed with some of the car work here

i'm working on a Porsche 911 but i going overboard and working from the ground up

working with nurbs exept for the nuts&bolts{easyest to get the nut shape user added image }
so i started with a wheel user added image
user added image included the brakes then i got to working on the suspension and ended up with

i know don't look much like a Porsche yet but i'm hopeing to get there,, planning on making the front end of the body over the next few days

like how you chose to build from the ground up. seeing how you've tackled the chasis so far i've no doubt this is going to be one hell of a vehicle.

wow dude!!! you going for the full detail!!!

well it looks great although i cant comment on how realistic it is (except the wheel) as I havnt a clue how it looks under it user added image

but the wheel looks awesome

need to redo the inners around the strut turrets i since found a better pic of the inside user added image

twisteddragon33 yup intend making the engine and gearbox just not to sure of amount of detail yet user added image

howardporter psycho!!!......... sounds about right for me user added image

Cyrius wheel was easy ....simple cv curve revolved end resilt tweeked a little to give it the bumps then a number of shaped nurb cylinders were circular filleted through the revolve job done user added image

slight update .......not done much today was nice so went out user added image but i did get round to starting work on the hood and reshaped the innerfenders/strut turrets

g force you should do a tutorial or something i bow down before your awesome talent all i ever made of a car was the bumper then i got frustrated.
