sub-d's, are they infinitely smooth?

is the render resolution of subDs infinitley smooth? for instance with Nurbs you can set the level of tesselation...

if so.... wow. thats pretty amazing!

yet they will always auto-tesselate to the point where they are perfectly smooth and nice to see...

they are pretty smotth from the start but in the channel box you can set it even smoother...
