Can't convert Poly to Subdiv

Hi y'all !

can you please help me with te rooftop of my car... It seems impossible to convert it to subdiv it's driving me crazy.. the other parts of the seem to have no problems with that except the roof...Maya keeps telling me this :
/ Error: polyToSubdiv1 (Poly To Subdiv Node): One or more edges is nonmanifold.
// Nonmanifold geometry cannot be converted to a subdivision surface.
// To clean up nonmanifold edges, use Polygons->Cleanup with the nonmanifold option. //

But whatever I do, everytime maya comes with this message! I cleaned it up for a thousend times but doesnt work!

Can somebody please help me?

When you alter the cleanup options, are you ticking the box next to nonmanifold? You should, then clean up the roof and it should convert fine.

the problem you have with the mesh is that you have faces i have selected in the screenshot.. have a gander at the maya docs, do a search for nonmanifold , im not sure how to explain it so the docs should do a better job than i canuser added image

yeah that tends to happen to me if I leave "keep faces together" on when extruding. If i find that I've done this I normally jsut start again cause it's not really tat easy to fix it.

i fined that realy bazare i wondering what prosess u used to model that beacase if u move one of the faces youl notice something is extreamly wrong.

how did u model that?

did you start with a cube, did i use a plane, shape it and extrude to give depth, or what?
