This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
it's a great model but i think your texturing could be a bit better. The shell looks a bit blurry even from this distance and the size of the patches on the legs seem to be a bit big. Do the legs have a bump map? they seem quite flat. you may want to consider a displacement map instead of a bump map.
I have had that problem with the shader in the shell, in just that one area. The map seems to stretch, and I have gone in and added more isoparms to that area with the same results.
Any ideas that might help? I kind of like the big patchs on the legs, but I have created some other shaders in the pass for the legs. Thanks for the input Alan.
