Nov/Dec - Character - late 1800s - 4ng3l - Noob

Although I'm quite late entering this challenge, I have decided to finally enter in my first challenge.
I'll model (or at least try to model) a sherlock holmes style Bilbo Baggins, off course with pipe (and maybe a walking stick).

I don't know if I'll finish, since this is my first real project in Maya/3D.

I'll try to post an update asap.

First update, it's not much, but better than nothing :p

An un-textured Sherlock style hat.
Took me ages getting the shape satisfactory!

Now let's get to texturing this thing.

Hey, its lookin good so far! One thing i see is that the front of his cap kinda ends, and we all know polygons have no thickness... so maybe you would want to curve those polygons around again and model a bit into the top of the cap. Not the whole thing, just enough so that you could get some thickness in that band in the front. Does that make sence? Keep it up

ACtually I did, but because the edge slopes slightly inwards it's not visible from this pov.

When the hat is finished I'll post multiple pov's
But that might take a while since I have no texturing exp. at all and putting a plaid/checkered texture on it appears quite hard to achieve for me :|
