Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

subd to poly

I love sub d's but I find it hard to convert them to poly and back to subd with good results. Anyone have suggestions on how to go about doing this and keep the poly count at a reasonable level? when ever i convert either it is too few polys or way to many i cant seem to find a happy medium where i can bounce back and forth on the 2. Any suggestions would be great.

In the covert to sub-d to poly option box have "Vertices" clicked on.

So when you convert back to poly it will just use the vertices, and your mesh will not get to heavy.
