Changing Shaders

I want to make it so when I get to a certian frame in my animation, a shader on an object changes to a different shader. I tried keyframing it, but that didnt seem to work. Any suggestions? Thnx user added image

Put your original shaders in a layered shader. Then keyframe the transparency of the "topmost" shader.
