Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

My City

hey im making a small city for an animation of probably a bunch of ships flying around and stuff.

and i would realllllllllly appreciate it if some1 could help me with learning the textures and stuff. like for the glass and all that.

small update. first try on glass windows so tell me what you all think. i posted in the newbie section on on how to make a glowing orb. its gonna be that ball in the venter of the glass. please help me with it cuase i have no idea on how to do it.

Well when you texture the ball, in the attribute editor for the shader, go to extra attributes, and there should be a glow option, click on that to add glow. As far as the glass, it's hard to tell right now because it seems like you're still using default lighting, but they should be reflecting more light off of them, put the specular color up higher, and some more eccentricity maybe. Right now it just looks like a transparent lambert.

yea ur right it is just a default transparent phong e. i didnt even mess with the specular and stuff. and yea its just default lighting.
