I would have thought that you'd need some more edgeloops, but I think it looks great as it is... user added image

MX dude

Hey nice going!! As Blomkaal said already some more loops would be good. Would you mind if I got my BIG RED PEN out as its not be out to play for a while on someones mesh? As I feel a redirection of edge flow coming on...

Later dude

The loops around your eye's look pritty good. Maybe more. but as mentioned around the mouth you could use a couple. Looking good though. The character has character ! LOL

if he adds these loops, then the character will look completely different.
not all character have the same edge flow,
it looks fine without all the edge loops imo.
edge loops makes it easy to animate and deform, thats all. if u are making a still or will not do heavy animations, the topology does not have to be a basic loop "cage" and your char will look great.
its just give the impression of sliding on a mucle or a skin being deformed, since they move in better arcs then straight lines.
but that does not mean its a bad thing to do it without edgeloops. its totally fine.

Vlad is right here. Correct edge flow is supposedly refering to the muscle beneath the skin. If this model i required for animation it will require edge loops regardless. But it will not make the face different, it will make it correct. Have a look at your own face and pull a few faces and if you can, watch how your skin stretches in arcs around the contours of your face.

Agreed that not all characters have the same edge flow but however all faces have the same muscle groups. So if the muscles are formed in this manner you would therefore require edge loops.

The topic of edge loops is a long debated subject on a certain sites, but above all it remains the unwritten rule for correct anatomy.

Peltra: Nearly there, Ill post tnite

Mainline: I'm doing ok, just wish I could get myself together and get that damned comp entry finished, but I feel this urge to model, not texture user added image
The thing that surprises me the most about this model are the good results you have on your smoothed model. I think I see some odd faces around the nose and mouth (correct me if I'm wrong though) which always gives me lots of weird creases...

Heya guys,

Thank you all for your positive feedback, it is greatly appreciated user added image

Thanks for the "Red Pen Satisfaction" Jango..lol....I will definately use it as a stepping stone for an update to improve the general mesh structure of the model, as I do plan to take this character through a few lip-sync animations and he's mesh structure will be vitally important..

Thnx once again guys, very informative feedback for sure.....Thnx for that user added image
