Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I have almost finished modeling an airplane, the Bombardier Challenger 604. What do you think?

I concur, in fact I think most aircraft have matte finishes, semi-gloss at most. It would be too hard to maintain. Whereas the fuselage is too reflective, I don't think the windows are reflective enough. Also for the windows, having some sky to reflect would be cool. Very nice model though!

Oh, I've always wanted to learn how you make these sky reflections, could someone explain that detailed?

this is the cheap way to do it:

create a dome (truncated sphere), reverse the normals, and apply a sky texture to it. the texture here was grabbed off google. scale the dome so that it sits over your entire scene. add lights as needed (this image has single ambient light, nothing flashy) Increase the reflectivity where you want it then render using raytracing.

I'm sure there are better ways, and obviously more complex and accurate ways, but this will work for little time and cpu effort.

Hi guys

Well thanks for all your comments.
Actually I didn't worked on this shader. I only created a white blinn shader and reduce the reflectivity from .5 to .35. I will though in the next few days be working on the texture. Thanks mhcannon for your tips I'll keep that in mind.

If you have maya unlimited, you can use fluids to do it. But in any version of maya, you can create some cloud particles.
