booleans with two extruded face

i'm modelling a car ( ferrari F50 ) and i have had the idea that if extrude the two face of the two side created with polygon tool and then use the boolean function intesect, i can obtain the basic external structure of my car.

but this is in my mind because i don't know how i can do this and i don't know how i can use the booleans function :headbang:

what can i do?

Honstly I would try to stay away from Booleans all together, they suck in Maya
