Cuting in Poly

Hey, Well i am a noob still. Im working on a bot-like thing, and im working on a gatling gun, but i'm trying to work more with polys, since i normally work with nurbs, so i dont know much about Polys. But as you can see in the illustration, i need to cut out the holes in the polygon cylinder for each barrel, what do i do?

You can try using "Booleans>Union" instead. I just tried this with a rough representation of what you did and it worked. Remember you can only choose TWO polygons at a time for this, so go slow! :-)

If all else fails, use "Difference" (as matt stated above), then create new cylinders to the same size as your original gun barrels and insert them in the holes created. Hope this helps!

Carry on...

Yes, booleans can be and usually are very frustrating. Just try working with what matt said. Also, I beileive there is a cut hole tool, or make hole tool for polygons.
