My HDRI Screwdriver

Well, seeming as though someone else posted their screwdriver with HDRI, I decided that I might too.

emm those images aren't HDR images on that site... they are jpegs they can't carry the necessary lighting information. These are only reflection maps I think. I could be wrong.

As for the render, turn off the reflectivity of the plane it looks bad and makes it very hard to see anything in the render.

Hey guys how is life in the world of 3d?

I have been fighting for days now with the HDRI screwdriver tutorial. I am new to HDRI so i dont realy know what to do.
As you can see below i made the screwdriver. I put a red box around the area i want to change. As you can see it does not look realistic. I have seen other screwdrivers of people (for exaple MattTheMan), but they all just have the gray color there. But mine does not. How can i get the realistic effect of the piont.

Thanks you guys user added image

Don't be afraid of what you can see, but be afraid of what you cant see.

That could be the HDR map, refelction, have you tried moving the screwdriver say 90 degrees and rendering to see if it makes a difference?
