Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Changing Render Background Colour

I want to animate a character, but without any background...when I do my batch render, the background defaults to black.

How can I change the background colour...and can you use a gradient?

Any help will be appreciated.

do it afterwards in post. There's no point in making your renderer calculate the picture as well when you can just add it afterwards at no extra rendering cost (plus you can easily change the background without re-rendering)

To Pure Morning

I got it figured out...turns out I didn't render the right camera...geesh!

Now...as to what you are saying...I am afraid I am not quite understanding. How do you add things in post production?

My knowledge goes as far as a batch render...I am not even sure how to render in layers...then get the layers back together...hahaha

I am keeping it rather simple at the moment, kind of new to all of this. Any info, or tutorials you may have that would help, would be appreciated.

Think alan means via the Alpha channel or if not via a quick chroma keying using acompositing package like afer effects of photoshop.

If you want to try it render an image with an alpha channel and look at it using Photoshop
