Can there be Fish eye rendering ??

I was wondering can we alter the camera to have the rendered image look like a fish eye lens I mean playing in angle and focal length is it possible ? and if it is how can it be done ?? thanks allot

yes, select the camera, or create a new one (create>cameras>camera) , and open the attribute editor.......... go to the camera attributes tabby thing in the Attribute Editor.......... set Focal length to 15... and Angle of view to 100.3... that should work or you can set the Focal Length to less, to make the effect more Exagerated

thanks allot that could really help me in some animations. wow maya is borderless then the sky's the limit

and what maya doesnt offer, you can script easily in MEL or make a plugin in c or c++ (which is really easy as well, the plugging in part, cuz the graphics programming is a piece of hard crap)

wow thanks allot this really makes the fish eye effect wow I wonder what else is there that could be done.

a question though how do i assign the lens shader ??
and Do you a good site to get HDRI maps for mental ray image based lighting ??

Like any other lens shader. Here's an old tut about the DOF shader. You should be able to adapt it to the fisheye shader.

thanks allot. without proper rendering your image is never complete huh i mean a good model with no proper texture and no proper render is as good as a crappy model.

another question when i download the plugins do i just copy and paste them into their respective folders ??

Follow the instructions in the readme.txt. Basically you copy the files to the right places and edit the maya.rayrc file and that's it...
