Your subject it not controversial at all, its just a comparison between Games and VFX. Now there is little difference with the way the work flows go for either of the 2 sectors (and VFX is learning a thing or 2 from gaming ATM) i think it would be pointless to do this subject (sorry).

Why not talk about the way parents blame the games and movie industries for the wrong actions of their children, it comes down to the violence factor again, but if its written with both viewpoints given objectively it could make for a good paper. You would make 6 pages easy on this topic and it is one that will not die (for the foreseeable future).

That's not a bad idea.

Recently, a coulple douchebags have been blaming the Virgina Tech shootings on video games:

Douchebag #1, Jack Thompson: Accused video games/the gaming industry before the killer's identity was released

Douchebag #2, good 'ol Dr. Phil

EDIT:

"Douchebag," above, is my opinion of them.

thanks for the links, they are pretty funny on what the "experts" are saying, they need to do their homework a little before they start to blame everything on games. the only way dr phil can get away with what he is saying, is that he uses alot of words so ppl forget what they he is saying.

Six pages?

With the links I gave you, and the extensiveness of the issue, you should be able to write an encyclopedia-sized essay :p
