This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Yeah as soon as I can I'll get something posted. I have a character model coming up soon so I'll be back in the forums. I'll be using Z for the next level up so to speak, plus I still have my Joker model on hold, which I was tinkering with last night in Z3 I'll try and get that done at some point as its looking promising
Top left: Modelling displacements in 3d space without using Projection Master to stamp it to the canvas first. Lovely!!
Top Right: Transpose Default, basically posingthe model with a more 'rubbery' looking deformation whereas the elbow has a transpose bone command applied giving a more realistic def to the elbow. Basically theres a tighter falloff on the bone version which is controlable by just click the cursor over the area
Bottom left: 3d painting without UVs!! You just paint the model in realtime, again no projection Master here. Then you decide on the size of the texture AFTER. Sizes now go from 512 to 8k!!! I know the testure is messy but it was done in 5mins...
Bottom Right: Mesh extraction, draw your mask on the model to your design, hit the mesh extract button, Z does the rest ...this took me under 30 seconds to do
you are supplied with 5 models too to play with, two are shown here plus a dog, rhino and a soldier
