This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Hi all,
i have just signed up to the site as i have started uni today and i have to learn Maya!
I have a bit of experience in 3D, but using 3DSMax.
I made scale models of various gas and plumbing components which then animated to show how they worked.
i have never used Maya before so i thought i'd sign up here and get some learning in before i start uni and have to jump in at the deep end.
Can anyone recommend a smallish tutorial to get me started with Maya?
Check out the free tuts here, they will help you a lot. Also, check the help files (F1) if you need any help. If you have any questions, just post them up here!
started uni today?? its mid semester?? where are you.., actually im the opposite.., the uni is going to star teaching Max (because the senior staff have no insight to the future importance to multi-media and wont spend the money on maya) and all I know is maya?? could have possibly given basic tuts there but not with Max., just got a copy to have a go at but.., after ten minutes I realized I dont ever want to start a 3D app from scratch again. life is too short.
im from the UK, Scotland to be exact. All the unis here start back this week or next.
The college i went to wanted to get Maya but the powers that be wouldnt allow it and we got Max instead. Bit of a nightmare just trying to get used to the different controls for rotate, scale and move never mind learning the whole package.
i'll give the free tutorials a look and hopefully get the hang of it.
that should help you. I hear what you say. as i said I just opened Max.., and man, though it is similar, its difficult and life is too short to start another 3D app from scratch, unless there's money in it.., then i will bother.., if I can score some basic skills tuts at uni.., ILL be investing in Max tuts...,
